Homecoming for University of Kentucky comes October 12, 2024. Your Gamma Sigma Alumni Association of TKE annual meeting will take place on that date. All Gamma Sigma Alumni are invited to attend our annual meeting.
What: Gamma Sigma Association of TKE annual meeting. When: 10:00-12:00 A. M., October 12, 2024
Where: Tates Creek Branch of Lexington Public Library located at 3628 Walden Drive, Lexington, KY. visible from Tates Creek Road south of New Circle Road. Fraters will meet in the large meeting room located on the right inside the main entry door.
Objectives: Enjoy meeting with Fraters and conduct business of the association to include nomination and election of Board of Directors to serve for the next year. Hopefully further plans will be forwarded closer to meeting date.
Gamma Sigma TKE Homecoming 2022
Just as some form of COVID will always be with us. So will be your Teke Homecoming. Your TKE Gamma Sigma Alumni Chapter and the University of Kentucky have scheduled the weekend of October 14th-16th, 2022 as Homecoming. So, in case you may have forgotten as to what we do and when we do it read on for Homecoming weekend 2022.
Our opponent will be Mississippi State, with full seating at Commonwealth stadium, and Keenland operating with admissions limited to 20,000 race day fans If you are interested in going to Keeneland and want to make sure you can get in you should go to Keenland.com and order your General Admission tickets in advance on line. Advance tickets are priced at $7.00 each. Walks ups on race day are $10 each if available. .As usually Lexington will be bursting at the seams. As a result hotel accommodations will be scarce and prices have increased significantly.
The TKE Alumni Group has a block of rooms at The Homewood Suites by Hilton, 249 Ruccio Way, Lexington Ky. 40503, (859 ) 223-0880. When making your reservation ask for the TKE Alumni Block. As usual if they cannot find the block try my name. The rooms are 1 bedroom studio suites at $267.00/night plus tax. The rooms will be released from inventory on October 10, 2022. Reservations must be made before then in order to have a room. There is a new Staybridge Suites next to the Homewood located at 209 Ruccio Way, Lexington, KY, 40503. Phone number is (859) 710-9888. Their rate for a three night stay is about $150.00 cheaper than the Homewood but they would not do a block of rooms. They currently have availability. If you are planning on attending Homecoming make your reservation now in order to save some money.
The annual meeting will be held at the Lexington Public Library Beaumont Branch located at 3080 Fieldstone Way, Lexington KY.
Weekend Events are as follows.
Thursday, October 13th: Afternoon arrivals meet in Hotel lobby lounge area for Happy Arrival Gathering and dinner to be determined by those attending or call Dave,
Friday, October 14th. Meet in Homewood Suites lobby at 11:00am for those planning on going to Keeneland. If you go to Keeneland separately then head to the far side of the grandstand and look for Tekes either in the grassy area or by the picnic tables.
Friday, October 14th. After Keeneland head directly to Dave’s house, (call for directions) where we will chip in for a pizza dinner and catch up on what we have been doing the past two years.
Saturday, October 15th Meeting at 9:30 AM, in the Lexington Public Library Beaumont Branch Meeting room, 3080 Fieldstone Way, Lexington KY
Saturday, October 15th Depending on game schedule there will either be a lunch before the game or a dinner after the game provided by the Alumni Chapter. For those not going to the game head to Dave’ house for food, drink and game watching.
